Courses/Workshops/Seminars
Dennis Perrin is officially recognised, licensed, and recommended by Dr Edward de Bono as an Accredited Trainer in Lateral Thinking, The Six Thinking Hats, and DATT - the Direct Attention Thinking Tools. All courses run by Dennis are designed and authorised by Dr Edward de Bono. Dennis qualified to teach de Bono Thinking in 1999. Since then, he has trained groups of 20+ managers from multinational companies such as Du Pont (China) and APM Terminals (Moller Maersk Shipping). Dennis's clients range from 75-year olds to age 8: from a cloakroom attendant in Cornwall to teachers and professors at Oxford University. Training is welcomed to individuals or groups.
The Six Thinking Hats Workshops
Will give you the most important change in human thinking for 2,300 years. You will not only bring down your individual thinking times but drastically shorten meeting times. This is because the Hats direct attention quickly, are simple, convenient, and eliminate confusion. What Einstein did for physics, de Bono has done for thinking, but infinitely simpler.
In the workshops, special attention is paid to the green and black hats since creativity can now be systematic, and certainly the black hat is not a bad hat, since logical criticism is very important. Each Hat represents directions, not descriptions. The Hats are not labels nor are they categories of people. The Hats take ego out of thinking and help people do one thing at a time. To gain skill in the totally fresh idiom of Parallel thinking, The Six Thinking Hats, some formal training is necessary.
The Lateral Thinking Workshops
Lateral Thinking is as revolutionary as it is essential for modern humans. As the CEOs of Du Pont and Prudential have found, Lateral Thinking saved their organisations millions of dollars and changed corporate culture. We need departments of creativity, time for Lateral Thinking. Then "design thinking" incorporates into our culture.
Lateral thinking is an insight tool, which is why it relates to humour. Edward de Bono's unique Lateral Thinking Workshops now make it possible for anyone to take advantage of powerful creative tools. Lateral Thinking brings our ideas up to date by incorporating creativity into culture. We learn the basic tools of Lateral Thinking, then through practice, we develop new Lateral Thinking skills.
The POP (Power of Perception) Workshops
The Power of Perception (POP)Thinking Tools workshop enhances perceptual power by training in perceptual tools. Since our thinking traditions were founded by ecclesiastical authorities, critical thinking was deemed essential, to preserve tradition. Subsequently, argument was the only tool available, handed down by Socrates, to break with ecclesiastical tradition. To this day, argument is upheld in politics as the ultimate way of proving oneself right.
The POP tools help us break out of this intelligent argument trap, which is also upheld in schools and universities, as "debate". POP encompasses the logic of perception, broadening perception, enabling creative and productive minds. Our intelligence need no longer be trapped by tradition. You will find in POP that the logic of perception is very different from normal logic. POP improves perception and frees intelligence.
